Our Journey
McNeal Automotive, located in Pontiac, was born out of Will McNeal's lifelong passion for the automotive industry. From a young age, Will knew he wanted to make a difference in this field. His journey began at the age of 13 when he lent a helping hand to a neighbor working on a car. Little did he know that this act of kindness would ignite his love for automotive repair. As a token of appreciation, his neighbor handed him $50, but it felt more like a rewarding experience than a job.
Fueling his ambition, Will pursued his dreams by graduating from the University of Northwestern Ohio's College of Applied Technologies and later became a technician for a dealership. He went on to become a technical consultant at General Motors while simultaneously running a mobile automotive company during evenings. After three years of juggling two jobs, Will's mobile business outgrew itself, leading him to make a daring decision. He quit his job at GM, purchased an auto repair shop, and thus McNeal Automotive LLC was born.
The road to success was not without challenges. Just two weeks after starting his business, Will's tools were stolen. But he refused to give up. With unwavering determination and the support of his former coworkers at GM, who generously donated one tool each from their own toolboxes, Will persevered and got his business up and running. Today, after 22 years of hard work, McNeal Automotive has flourished, expanding the repair shop and offering an even wider range of automotive services.
Community Engagement and Inspiration
Will McNeal takes immense pride in his exceptional team and serves as an inspirational leader. He believes in giving back to the community that has supported him throughout his journey. During a school's Entrepreneurship Day program, he shared his story and encouraged students to follow their passions relentlessly. His message resonated deeply: "Never stop trying, ever. Find something you want and never stop going after it. Sometimes the drive will push you more than anything."
Certifications and Specializations
McNeal Automotive's technicians are not only certified by the State of Michigan, but also by the prestigious National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). With a combined experience of over 70 years, our team specializes in repairs and maintenance for GM, Chrysler, and Ford vehicles. We are also well-versed in handling foreign makes and models, ensuring that we can assist a diverse range of customers.
